For some reason, I had the biggest craving for hamburger helper this evening...it's not even something I would normally eat even off my candida diet!
Very easy to find a homemade version of it on the internet. I just had to adjust it to fit the candida diet. The portion here was enough for me and my hubby, I served mine over spaghetti squash and he had his over regular egg noodles. :)
Homemade Hamburger Helper
1 lb ground beef
1 onion
1/4 cup kamut flour
1 cup almond milk
1 small can of organic tomato sauce, no sugar added! ( I blended fresh tomatoes instead )
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1. Put a dash of olive oil in a pan on medium-high, add the cut onion and the beef. Cook the beef until brown.
2. Add all the dry spices and the flour. Mix well until the flour is absorbed.
3. Add the tomato sauce and the almond milk. Cook for about 2 mins.
If it is to liquid, cook it down for a bit, if it is to thick, add some more milk.
4. Add more salt and pepper to taste.
Sooooooooo satisfying!!

Mix the ingredients together, play, shape it, cook & paint it!
Cooking: Place all the shapes on a pan in the oven at about 200 for about an hour depending on the thickness. You dont reallly ''cook'' them but instead you dry them out.

Candida diet recipe : Cucumber Radish Creamy Sauce
This sauce is not only delicious but also filling and you can have as much as you want even if you are on the candida diet!
I just had it for dinner over my salmon, but it would also be perfect for chicken, or as a dip for vegetables. My daughter even ate spoonfuls of it!

How to make your own Silhouette Artwork
I am starting to gather artwork to hang on the wall in my daughter's bedroom and I did not want to have random stuff that means nothing to me, or her. That is the reason why I am making my own!
I saw on Pinterest framed colourful Silhouettes of Disney characters. To have something similar but with a personal touch, my sister gave me the idea of creating one using my daughter's picture.
I happened to have a picture of her silhouette! Great! Thanks sis'!
I have to say that my sister is an amazing artist, go see her blog!

I want to have colourful art on her wall so instead of making a regular black and white silhouette, I used colours out of a picture in one of my Pinterest board.
Here is the colour combination I came up with :
This is the Silhouette I made using the colours in the combination. Now all I have to do is to print it and frame it!
2. Crop it to the size you want, for example, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10...
3. Draw very carefully the contour of the silhouette, do not miss any detail!

I'll be posting a vignette of the wall once all the frames are up!
If you want to make your own silhouette, here are the steps that I followed to create mine :
* You need very basics photoshop skills and a drawing tablet! Unless you are very comfortable with
drawing with your mouse...
1. Find or take a very high resolution picture of your child or the person you wish to draw
2. Crop it to the size you want, for example, 4x6, 5x7, 8x10...
3. Draw very carefully the contour of the silhouette, do not miss any detail!
4. Using the paint bucket, fill in the silhouette, then fill in the background with a different colour
5. Zoom into the picture to retrace over every little detail
Voilà! You have your own personal silhouette art work!
Candida Diet : Yummy Crêpes
It is the same recipe as regular crêpes, but different ingredients! I even think that they taste better!
Kamut Flour Yummy Crepes:
1 cup kamut flour
1 cup almond milk
2 eggs
10 drops of stevia
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1. Mix all the ingredients, if needed, add flour or milk until it has a thick and liquid consistency.
2. Heat up the cooking pan to medium-high.
Use about 1 teaspoon of coconut oil in the pan for each crepe.
Poor a full ladle of the mixture into the pan and spread it out to cover all the surface.
You want to have thin but large crêpes, not thick and small like you would do to make pancakes.
I ate them with almond butter mixed with stevia.
They are also delicious with plain yogourt mixed with carob powder and stevia!

Tip for writing on a mug with a sharpie
My sister and my father spent the long weekend at my house and we all did some random crafting on sunday evening. That is a family activity that I really enjoy!
I wanted to try to write on a mug with a sharpie, just like on some post I have seen on a few blogs. I found out that it is much easier when you write your pattern or your letters first by using a graphite pencil.
